Reminder to Comply with AML Identification Procedures
Following changes to the identification procedures across all states and territories, funders are quite concerned about the accuracy of the AML checklists and their supporting documents. They have recently requested that we strenthen our processes, to ensure that proper verification of information submited by the business partners is carried out. It is therefore very important for all business partners ensure, that in addition to completing the AML checklist, that they endorse the following declaration on the ID documents.
For identity verification documents that contain a photograph of the mortgagor/guarantor: “I certify that I have seen the original documentation and that the photograph is a true likeness and this copy is a complete and accurate copy of that original.”
For identity verification documents that do not contain a photograph of the signatory: “I certify that I have seen the original documentation and this copy is a complete and accurate copy of that original.”
